1% of all Americans will never get a cavity

It has long been accepted that about 1% of all Americans will never get a cavity, almost no matter what else is happening in their lives or with their oral hygiene.

Recently, one possible reason for this was discovered by research in Sweden.

The researchers identified a genetic variation that influences the body’s ability to fend off decay-causing bacteria called Streptococcus mutans.  Stay tuned for more scientific factoids about your dental health…
